I was busy yesterday with my new beads from Soul of Somanya, and my newly purchased jar of buttons.  All was right with the world.  Good music was playing.  Hot coffee was in hand and the kids and husband were off happily doing their own thing.  Look what I made.

 I was really happy with how my first button bracelet turned out.  I love the colors.

 I made these wire wrapped earrings awhile ago but just got them listed on Etsy.  This was the first time I worked with liver of sulfa.  It really made a difference.

New beads

     Yesterday I received a package in the mail from Soul of Somanya.  That is the bead company that my sister Heather told me about.  They help youth in Africa.  These beads are sooo beautiful. 

  Something you may not know about me is that I am a junker.  I love going into antique stores or consignment shops and combing through the treasures.  I have been keeping my eyes peeled for old buttons because I've been inspired by what other jewelry artists have created using buttons.  Look what I found.

 I made this necklace yesterday.  The handmade ceramic pendant is by Sandhra Lee on etsy.  I fell in love with it when I saw it.  It reminds me of spring.

four snow days in three weeks!

     I can't get over all this snow.  My kids couldn't be happier with all the snow days.  While it is sort of a pain with all the clean up, it is so pretty.  I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

 I made some new jewelry that I will be posting on Etsy tommarrow.  The necklace below is very earthy.  The pendant is from Gaea.

This necklace was made using a pendant I found at Micheals.  I love the blue color.  Valentine day is right around the corner.

This necklace reminds me of spring.  Will we ever see the grass again!

new earings

I had so much fun participating in the fusion bead challenge.  I noticed that many people made jewelry sets and so I decided to create some earrings to go with the necklace I made.  People really seemed to like the pea pods I made from the seed beads and the leafs so I used that when making the earrings.  I put the seed beads on a headpin and as with the necklace I used some clear jewelry glue behind the seed beads to keep them in place.  Let me know how you like them.

The Fusion Bead Challenge and Blog hop was so much fun.  I love looking at all the beautiful creations.  This is the first time I have participated in anything like this.  I loved reading all the comments people left and leaving my own comments on other peoples blogs. When people take time to compliment you it feels fabulous!!!! Thank you everyone.

Fusion Bead Challenge

I am paticipating in the Fusion Bead Challenge.  Everyone starts out with the same beads and can add a few of their own.  Here is my entry I hope you like it.

Snow snow snow!!!!

Wow this has been a snowy January.  The kids have already had two snow day.  We are supposed to get more snow Friday.  I have had some time to make some new jewelry. 

3 day stretch

    I am working three night shifts in a row so I haven't had much time to bead.  I'm itching to get started.  I just got some new beads from bead monkey.  I love her beads!!! They are great for making comfortable bracelets because they are flat so  when your writing or working on the computer your bracelet won't bother you. 
     I am so happy.  I made my first etsy sale last night!!!  My Aunt Gen bought some great jewelry for her trip to Turkey.  Thanks Aunt Gen you are the best. 

    

back to school, back to work

     The snow day we had yesterday was really fun.  It was great spending times with our friends.  The kids had a blast.  They we not so happy this morning when they had to get back to the routine.  Here are some pictures I took after they left for school.  We got around 18 inches of snow and it looks beautiful.

Snow Day

Wow we got tons of snow.  The kids were so happy.  I didn't get any beading done today but we had a great time playing in the snow.  Our friends came over later in the day and some Baileys and coffee was consumed.  YUM.

     This necklace was made using a pendant from Element Pottery.  It will be in my etsy shop shortly.

Staying warm

Today was so cold.  I am happy though because I accomplished alot today.  My jewelry will now be on sale in Lillie's Unique Boutique on rt. 9 in Shrewsbury.  The store sells vintage and new clothing.  It has a really fun selection from cool leather boots to vintage coats.  The owner is a very friendly woman.

  After that was accomplished I sat by the fire and read a great book.  Then we ate some comfort food, chili and cornbread.  The cornbread from trader Joe's is sooo good.   Even my kids like it.

New jewelry

  Hello.  I just post some new jewelry in my etsy shop.  I am learning all about how to promote my work.  Tonight I hope to print up some new business cards.  When this is complete I will have the courage to send emails to all my friends about my blog and new etsy shop.  Wish me luck.

  

Feeling better

      I have finally recovered from a horrible sickness that involved alot of time in the bathroom.  It knocked me off my feet for 3 days.  Today I finally feel like I have a little more energy which is fortunate since I am working tonight.
